Stern Film Studio & Media Center Stern Film Studio & Media Center's goal is to provide the Hungarian and international filming community with a world class production and technical infrastructure adaptable for all types of film and television. The stages, offices and workshops can either be 'dry hired' to productions, allowing Producers the freedom to locate the crew and service providers, or the Studio's own company, Stern International Productions, can work in cooperation to find all the elements needed to fulfill any film requirements and production budgets. Privately owned, Stern Film Studio & Media Center is surrounded by the beautiful Pilis Hills located in a quiet suburb of Budapest, Hungary. Under the direction of owner, Mr. Robert Szabados, Stern Film Studio & Media Center is divided into departments specializing in various services and facilities. History This industrial site has gone through a number of historically interesting changes. It was privately owned from 1927 until 1938 when the change in state government appropriated the premises. It was partially privatized in 1988 and fully privatized in 1993, upon acquisition by the current owner. Hungary is a popular filming location because of the beauty of the countryside and the old-world charm of the streets and buildings of Budapest, as well as the award-winning quality of Hungarian film craftspeople. To meet the ever-growing needs of the local and international film industry, construction began in early 2003 to transform the property into Stern Film Studio and Media Center, a comprehensive meeting place where creative people can develop and bring their ideas to reality. Set Construction Our Set Construction and Paint Workshop areas total over 1000 sq.m (11000 sq.ft) and include all the equipment needed to meet your productions' needs. Props Our Propmasters have many years experience designing, building, and sourcing to the needs of any production. Production Offices Our air-conditioned offices and meeting rooms are available on site for the span of your production. We can help you furnish your office and provide you with the necessary equipment, including computers, photocopy machines, fax machines, etc. All offices are wired with high-speed internet. Offices are also available to lease. Storage Storage areas are available on site for the span of your production, or on a permanent basis. Sizes vary from 25 sq.m (270 sq.ft) to 1000 sq. meters (11000 sq.ft). Parking Parking for cars and production vehicles is available. We require each production to register their vehicles with us. This will ensure a closed-to-the-public environment. Fully-serviced space for private trailers in a quiet area is also available. Traffic, Access, Security Only twenty minutes from downtown Budapest, Stern Film Studio & Media Center is within easy access of major roads, commuter trains and buses. Please contact us for complete directions. Security is ensured. The premises are well-lit and fully guarded by 24-hour security. Restaurant During your production, our catering and craft services offer delicious, ever-changing meals and snacks throughout the day. Our chefs can give you a taste of the local cuisine, or serve up a meal that tastes ‘just like home'. Vegetarian meals are also available upon request. Visitors We welcome all filmmakers and media professionals to visit the Studio. We do ask that you contact us beforehand so that we can make all arrangements for a guided tour and an information package to be ready upon your arrival. |
